Completion Report
Project Summary:
CMDB has been launed successfully on 1st of July 2015. The old Change Control System has been disabled for all IS Applications staff apart from four staff in Production Management. Extensive training has been in place in advance of the launch and overall the launch has been very smooth.
Feedback on the use of Change & Release is being recorded and will be reviewed in August 2015 post project closure.
Analysis of Resource Usage:
Staff Usage Estimate: 40 days
Staff Usage Actual: 45 days
Staff Usage Variance: 13%
Other Resource Estimate: 0 days
Other Resource Actual: 0 days
Other Resource Variance: 0%
Explanation for variance:
Training and agreeing CMDB structure took longer and was more complex than originally estimated. But the extensive training has been very useful to ensure a successful launch of CMDB and Change & Release within IS Applications.
Key Learning Points:
Changes across a whole division for tools which have been used for a long time as well as introducing new processes requires substantial training.
Outstanding issues:
The project has not populated all CMDB items as originally planned. The CMDB population will be performed in two ways:
1) by ongoing projects and as part of the project deployments CMDB will be populated
2) under ongoing support as followed:
a) priority services are being fully populated
b) all services are being populated partially (just the service CI)
c) a review of the position of outstanding CI items will be performed on a 6 month basis
3) Feedback regarding the use of Change & Release and CMDB is being gathered:

A review of the feedback will be performed in August and a decision will be made at that meeting how we progress with the various feedback.
