There is a strategic need for IS Applications to remove our reliance on VSS and SVN for code management, and move all active application code to the GitLab repository and version control service. Also, the VSS has already reached end of life and SVN v 1.6 hosting our applications has long since ceased to be supported.

The goal of the INF141 project, kicked off in October 2018, is replacing VSS and SVN code instance with Git and migrating active applications to the IS Apps GitLab service. It is anticipated that there will not be the budget to move all code to Git. Accordingly, the project will produce a complete list of all code to be moved, the priority of the migration, the complexity and process involved, so that further budget can be allocated or a subsequent project budgeted for, based on reliable estimations.
