Overview
Background
At present the LEARN system operates via an Oracle database. Currently the version we are operating on is several levels behind the newest version. This has led to the system being under extended support from Oracle, but at a cost. Extended support will become unavailable in 2018.
Currently at 11.2.03 the plan is to upgrade to 12.2 otherwise known as 12c. This is the strategic direction for all Oracle platforms and to keep support rationalised.
Scope
This project is limited to the Oracle version upgrade only.
Upgrades to other supported software needed for the database upgrade will be considered, and where required, tested and installed to ensure a succesful Oracle upgrade
Out of scope
- Any upgrades to LEARN other than those mentioned above
- Changes to Upstream / Downstream systems
