The University website (UWS) is implemented on the Polopoly CMS platform. In 2011/12 a project (ITS087) was carried out to evaluate the Drupal CMS for use as an alternative platform for the University Website. The final report from ITS087 - Drupal Technical Evaluation recommended that if the University wished to progress with the Drupal CMS the next phase of the evaluation should be a project to test the solution in practice using a proof of concept (POC).   This project will create a POC and evaluate the suitability of the Drupal CMS platform for the UWS. The outputs from the project will be:

  • a UWS POC enviroment built using Drupal CMS
  • a report evaluating the suitability of Drupal CMS for the UWS
  • recommendations on further research to evaluate Drupal CMS (or alternate web CMS solution)
  • a high level costed plan for implementing the UWS based on Drupal CMS

Please note that the scope of this project is to further evaluate the Drupal CMS for use for the UWS.  The project will not evaluate alternative Web CMS solutions.
