Overview

Background

Digital Collections Platform Design (LUC080) builds on the work undertaken in LUC073 Digital Collections Platform Implementation to create an instance of Archipelago to host the University’s digital collections assets. The migration of these assets, through LUC074 Digital Collections Migration – LUNA, will be ongoing and run alongside this project.

Scope

This project is concerned with the design of the front end of the Digital Collections Platform and the image collections migrated through LUC074, and is focused on the look and feel of the platform and how it meets the main requirements of its core users.

Engagement around design / user experience will continue post-project: as part of LUC080, the project team will make a recommendation for how this should be approached.

The project will embed the Library‘s visual identity within the Digital Collections Platform.

Out of scope

This project will not include non-image resources such as AV collections, PDF documents or 3D models. Design considerations around these will be included when this material is migrated
