  1. Complete the planning phase of the project with the project sponsor

Engagement of Energy Consultancy

  1. To prepare a job specification for the Energy consultancy
  2. Source and engage the approprite Energy consultancy

 

Business Analysis

  1. To produce the business requirements regarding the capture of energy consumption data incorporating
    • Identification of reliable, robust automatic meter data collection system(s) for all utilities
    • Identification of the reporting requirements regarding the consumption of energy

Systems Review  

  1. Complete Gap Analysis regarding defined business requirements and existing system capabilities
  2. Review the marketplace for potential solutions

Prepare Energy Strategic Report

  1. Prepare the Energy strategic report incorporating
    1. The Business requirements
    2. A suitability report of the existing systems based on the findings of the Gap Analysis
    3. Potentiial solutions that will deliver the defined business requirements incorporatingdetails outlined in the project deliverables
    4. Strategic recommendations

 

 

 

Resources Skills and Cost

 

From an Estates perspective;

  1. There will be inpit required at all stages of the project from the Project Sponsor, the Energy Manager and the oher members of the Energy team
  2. The Estates department have identified the need to supplement the project team with external consultancy to undertake a lead role in the gathering of requirements, review of existing nd potential solutions before recommending teh strategic way foward

From a Stakeholder perspective;

  1. Input with regards to the business requirements, will be sought from a number of representtaives throughout the university, but in particular from the departments; Social Responsibility and Sustainability, Accomodatation Services

From an IS Applications Persepective

  1. There will be the requirement for a project manger throughout all stages of the project  
  2. Input will be required from Development Technology in the later stage of the project to provide some technical input regarding the inital overview of potential solution

Potential costs for the proposed Energy consultancy have still to be established.
