The original eTime project delivered, across two phases, the time recording functionality required by both Hours to be Notified (HTBN) staff, and Research staff involved in Framework 7 (FP7) and Research Council funded projects. Latterly working under a fixed cost budget, that project was closed with the understanding that a number of requirements would be carried forward to a separate project, which would be started later in the planning year.
This "Phase 3" project is also operating under a fixed cost budget. It opened with a requirement collection and prioritisation exercise, which included a number of common issues that had been identified since the Live roll-out. The project then planned to deliver batched enhancements, according to the agreed priority, until the budget cap was reached.
However, delays arose in confirming the business requirements for Batch Processing, which was the most complex, and one of the project sponsor's highest priority items. The project team therefore continued to deliver the remaining enhancements until the Batch Processing decision was reached. As a result, there was insufficient budget left to deliver Batch Processing. The budget has therefore been increased to allow this final enhancement to be completed.
