Dependencies from other projects:
- SAC100 next HESA statutory return will make changes- Return Manager is listed as key stakeholders to engage with for the coming changes.
- SAC105 ESC changes to support the new policy changes. BI reporting changes planned for in Oct 24. We will engage via the Programme Manager.
- SAC098 There are Continuous Service Improvements being delivered that could impact the processes to be changed for this project- Liaise via Programme Manager.
Lessons learned from previous projects
- SAC085 - A previous project related to the deletion prospects of unsuccessful applicant data was suspended due to other priorities. This did include a DPIA which was found to be a useful tool in mandating the change as it required sign-off by the business users. However, there were challenges in receiving engagement from the appropriate stakeholders and therefore receiving their input to a satisfactory degree. The data itself is used by a variety of different areas downstream and such a devolved structure increases the number of impacted people.
- Large scale deletions need to be planned to not coincide with any major annual events that are happening in the database such as annual rollover of all student records so close agreement with Operations is required.
