Project Summary
This project was raised to address small enhancements to the EDW data warehouse, including the HR data mart, in response to bug reports and changing business requirements. There was also a need for ongoing enhancements to the data warehouse itself, in order to ensure good performance and reliability. In addition, there were some issues for the HR data mart that were left unresolved when the DTI049 project closed
Start of Semester is an increasingly challenging time for students and our IT and Library Services. Our services are more complex and tightly integrated. Student numbers are increasing, and expectations are growing. It is important that the University provides a professional and positive experience for our students, particularly new first-year undergraduates. Staff turnover from year to year can mean that key expertise is lost. This is all too important to leave to chance.

This project is being initiated after a major incident at Argyle House that caused flooding in the West Wing of the building. As a result of this flooding, staff located in this wing are unable to work from office effectively, and none of the meeting rooms in the West Wing or ISG reception are available for use to anyone. The East Wing was not affected in this incident.
The key goal of the project is to define and accomplish the needed items so ISG can announce and return to its New Way of Working during September.

The Online Course Production team is collaborating with Dr Michael Gallagher, a Senior Lecturer in Digital Education from the Centre for Research in Digital Education, to create a new MOOC. The course called 'How to Teach an Online Course' is primarily aimed at educators who are new to teaching online. It isn't a 'how to' course in terms of showing all the functionality available in online teaching but rather, it provides materials to help learners think about pedagogy, building an community online, and feedback & assessment.
